Want to better understand plastics from the plastics point of view? Is sizing gates on new molds a challenge? Is someone telling you the gates on an existing mold are damaging the resin and you don’t have a quick way to check?
Ever wondered why one mold works and another mold doesn’t for the same resin? Maybe you’ve already looked into this and are confused by the different information out there?
By the end of this technical presentation, you should have a good understanding of how shear affects plastics, some of the misleading information in our industry, where it occurs in molding and help drive consistency and profitability in your operation. We will step through what shear rate is and is not and how best to use each approach.
Mike Miller is VP of Engineering at HellermannTyton.
