Our annual SPE Education Night was held on April 17th at WCTC. Our Key Note Speaker for Elite Additives gave a presentation on the latest in 3D printing and additive manufacturing. This included robotics and automation needed to bring this process to the production floor and not just for prototyping.
We had around 85 attendees. Students in attendance traveled from UW-Madison, UW-Stout, UW- Platteville and WCTC. Essay Contest winners and their families were also in attendance. Our 2018 SPE Educator of the Year winner – Bob Novak from WCTC was also recognized.
We gave out over $4,000 in scholarships from SPE and Progressive Components. Had drawings for $250 in gift cards from Town Bank, MGS and SABIC. The last drawing that night was for a $700 – 3D printer donated by First Technologies.
Overall there was good interaction with the students and SPE Members. It was great to see the next generation of plastics professionals excited about the future of our industry.
